Rio Tinto Case Study

They wanted
As a leading international mining group Rio Tinto finds, mines, and processes metal and mineral resources. Rio Tinto trains 1,000 users globally to support risk analysis and management. They wanted to roll out RioRisk, the group’s enterprise-wide risk management application. RioRisk was designed to support Rio Tinto’s risk analysis and management approach, to a highly diverse, geographically distributed user base and minimize adoption time and cost. Implementing RioRisk would also ensure that the learning needs of staff at all levels and functions were met through engaging, quality learning materials that could be accessed 24/7. We thought Accommodating learners with varying learning styles, locations, languages, job roles and frequently changing business processes would require a combination of application training media and a suite of modules covering the business processes. By using multiple training development tools we could provide Rio Tinto with integrated and consistent learning programs to be re-used in multiple combinations for different audiences. We delivered Using our consulting and development experience we helped setup Oracle User Productivity Kit Professional to service and manage user access to a library of over 90 Web-based courses and 250 documents, presentations and assessments. We also integrated engaging business process e-learning content using other learning development tools. This combined approach allows all training materials and courses to be rapidly updated with new screen shots and features during the application development stages and business process changes. |
